お客様の声からうまれた！

当店は東京-東銀座で、履きやすさに特化した婦人靴店を営業しております。

ある日のこと　以前パンプスを購入頂いたお客様が、
「先日買ったパンプス、かかとが脱げて困るの、何とかならない？」というお問合せがあり、
他メーカー製の従来品の小さなパット状の「脱げ防止商品」をお薦めし、そちらを購入頂きました。

そうするとまた3日後くらいにお越しになり、「やっぱりダメだった脱げるわ！？」と・・・
「せっかく1万円以上だして買ったパンプスなのに残念・・・この靴どうしよう？」と
とても落ち込まれました。

 何とかしなくては！と　一念発起

私自身、履きやすい靴店をこだわりをもって営業していてとても恥ずかしい気持ちと、
お客様に大変申し訳ない気持ちになり、これは何とかしなくては！と強く心に決めました。
 
その後アイデアから試作を繰り返し、
同タイプですがパンプスの踵に縫い付ける方法でスタートしました。
それは1週間のお預かりでお受けしていました。それはそれで「脱げなくなった！」と好評で
ある種の達成感に満足していました。

思わぬことから完成に！
 
ところがまたある日、別のお客様が「ここで買った靴じゃないんですが、かかと脱げるんだけど、何とかなる？」と
お問い合わせがあり、はい！出来ます　1週間のお預かりになりますが。とお伝えしますと、

「明日お父さんの法要があるから急ぎなのに何とかならないの？」と問答があり、
何とかします！とお答えし、急ぎで簡易的に作成しました。それが効果抜群でお喜び頂けたのです。
よし！これだ！と簡単に装着できるタイプ（本商品）が出来上がりました。


他社商品との差別化

従来より「かかと脱げ防止商品」は多数ありましたが、小さく厚みがある柔らかいパット状やジェル状ばかりでした。

私自身、婦人靴店を営業していて、かかと脱げはこのような従来のものを販売していましたが、
どうも効果がなく、見た目にもいかにも付けているという感じで、すぐにはがれてしまうという
お悩みが多かったのです。

　当社の「かかとパカパカストッパー」は、柔らかすぎず硬すぎない程よい硬さで
かかとをしっかりホールド。大きめなので「かかと全体を包み込む新しい方法」でしっかり脱げを
防ぐことができます。

今後の展開について

これまで当店（銀座店舗）と当社通販サイト、Amazon Japanでの約1年間半販売してきました。

他にどこに売ってますか？　もっと知られるべき！というお声もたくさん頂いていました。
2016年3月より、東急ハンズさんの全店舗で販売を開始して頂いております。

今後は、「かかとパカパカストッパー」を世界に向けて
女性の靴のお悩み解決が出来るようにと考えております。

- Development Story
Inspired by customer comments!

We have our women’s shoe store in Ginza, Tokyo, where we specialize in comfort.
One day, a customer who had bought pumps before said “The pumps I bought here the other day keep slipping off at the heel.
Is there anything you can do?”
We recommended some small pad-type retainers that were the conventional product from another manufacturer,
and the customer bought some.

After about three days, she came back again, saying “No good, they still slip off!” and
“I spent more than 10,000 yen on these pumps, and what can I do with them now?” and
she was really sad.
 
I felt terribly embarrassed because we care about being a shoe store for shoes that are comfortable and easy to wear,
and I resolved that I had to do something, because I felt we let that customer down.
 
Starting from that idea, I made a succession of prototypes, beginning with the same kind of part that was stitched into the heel of the pumps. We kept the pumps for about a week for that. The customer was happy, saying “They don’t slip off any more!”,
so I was satisfied, with a feeling of accomplishment.
 
Another time, a different customer came in saying “I bought these shoes somewhere else, but the heels slip out.
Can you do something?” I answered “Yes, we can, but we’ll need to keep the shoes for about a week”.
She replied “Tomorrow is a memorial ceremony for my father. Can you do something quicker?”
I said “I’ll do something”, and made something quick and simple.
The customer was delighted that what I did was extraordinarily effective. I thought “Yes! This is it!”,
and created that easy-fitting type (this product).
 
Distinction from competitors’ products

There have been a lot of heel retainer products（heel grips）, but they were all either small, thick, soft pads or gel pads.
In running a ladies’ shoe store, I used to sell those conventional products against shell slipping, but they had a lot of problems
because they weren’t effective, didn’t look well attached, and quickly peeled off.
Our Heel Slip Stoppers have just the right hardness, not to soft and not too stiff, to hold the heel firmly.
They are on the large side, so they can prevent heel slippage by a new approach of enfolding the entire heel.
The material is the same as is used for the heel parts of pumps, so they don’t stand out visually,which is another welcome advantage.
They are outstandingly effective, and we have received many delighted comments from happy users.

Future Rollout

Until now, we have been selling our Heel Slip Stoppers in this store (the Ginza store), on our website, and on Amazon Japan for about a year and a half. A lot of people have said things like “Where else do you sell these? They should be much better known!”
Since March 2016, they have been on sale at all branches of the Tokyu Hands chain of sundries stores.
Next we’ll start selling them on Amazon in four more countries (USA, UK, Germany, Canada), to serve women around the world who suffer from slipping heels.
 
Other things we offer at our Ginza store include quick top strap attachment (adding a top strap to pumps in about 30 minutes), painless cushion soles for people with standing jobs who suffer from pain and fatigue in their soles, and Arch Pocket Insoles to support the arch of the foot, even in sandals.
 
These are examples of our aspiration to be an innovation company that keeps on trying challenges in new products and services and staying ahead of the competition. We strive every day to realize our resolution to become a company that carries Japan forward.
 
Our company name, Matino’s, is an abbreviation of “MATsuura INnovation Shoes”, reflecting the idea that “Matsuura is innovating the shoe industry”.
We aim to keep on advancing through successive innovations.
